Yeah output redirection work. The server use the “normal” print/output functions of the C/C++ library, they directly use the Win32 API functions AFIAK.

I heard of a trick to do this without injection a dll: send windows messages to the server screen to select all the text, then a message to copy the text to your clipboard. Then read the clipboard using your program.

Small overview of Windows Messages:

I personally prefer a clean injection of a dll though. I find the above trick a bit ugly.

I agree that, in regards to Twitter in I just see a major spam issue. The set up of the service just lend itself well to any kind of unavoidable spam.

FriendFeed can be slightly more problematical in regards to comment spam as highlighted by others above. That may develop into a problem – given that commenting/liking are an part of developing networks through FriendFeed beyond those that you initially follow.

Have you performed a screening on /ch/, /sh/ and /j/ in the various word positions? That is the procedure I take using The Entire World of SH & CH Screening Form.
